Couples Negril also has a nude beach area. So that part of the beach is roped off as well. If you are interested in the nude beach it has its own section of the beach separated by plants and shrubbery. There are beach chairs and a private hot tub.
Couples Negril Nude Beach
The 234-room Couples Negril offers a romantic and largely tranquil all-inclusive experience on a gorgeous stretch of beach outside the town's main action. Included amenities are extensive, ranging from room-delivered breakfasts and top-shelf liquor, to scuba diving and catamaran cruises. Breezy rooms are sophisticated and have iPod docks, coffeemakers, minibars restocked daily, and sleek bathrooms with rainfall showers. Furnished balconies also come standard, but views of the ocean are limited. Five restaurants and five bars include a buffet eatery, swim-up bar, and an Asian spot, but food receives mixed reviews. A spa, daily low-key entertainment, fitness center, and wedding services -- expect to see several ceremonies -- are also available here. Overall, this is an excellent pick for laid-back couples, but those wanting to be on famous Seven Mile Beach should consider Couples Swept Away.
The Caribbean is a haven for sun-seekers, beach lovers, and even naturalists looking to enjoy some time in the buff. There are several resorts that cater to vacationers looking to shed their trunks during their stay. Most are just like any other all-inclusive resort, just with a clothing-optional area for guests to enjoy, and a few require full nudity whenever you are at a swimming area. Here are 8 resorts in Jamaica with nude beaches and pools.
The Couples Negril resort, located on the beautiful Negril Beach, has been a favorite couples escape destination since its opening in 1982. The resort has been completely renovated from the rooms to the lobby and entertainment areas while maintaining its classic Jamaican charm. Couples Negril is truly a vacation for couples who enjoy watching romantic sunsets on the world-famous 7 Mile beach, dancing under star-filled Jamaican skies, sipping cocktails with their toes in the sand, and enjoying the close-by attractions of Negril.
The nude beach is on a separate island accessible by boat. It includes a tower you can climb, has a small pool and sun lounges. The nude beach is not clothing optional. You must be nude to be on the beach unless you go in the early morning before the nude hours begin.
For guests going to the Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton Resort & Spa, there is a nude beach (cove) and a topless pool on the lady hamilton side. Anyone is welcome in this area and you do not have to be nude or topless.
I think you may need to double check your list. I emailed Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton Resort & Spa about their nude beach and topless pool and they said that they no longer have them and have become a family friendly resort.
Your information on Sandals Royal Caribbean resort is grossly inaccurate. I think you are confusing some information about other Sandals resorts. It is very small, by no stretch of the imagination "expansive" and so compact, it is like a rat maze between the buildings. If you want to put a spin on it, "intimate" or "cozy" might be better words. They could not shoe horn another building in there unless they got rid of the "croquet/wedding lawn (glorified weed patch, often soggy). It is not on a ridge or in the mountains with views of the ocean or anything else, but decidedly at sea level on the coast, just out of Mo'Bay. Nor it is surrounded by a nature reserve, just a couple of acres of as yet undeveloped land on one side. (Sandals South Beach on the other side of the Island is "expansive" and surrounded by a 500 acre nature reserve, thus very secluded, but no nude or CO areas). Royal is just off the main highway next to a large Riu resort. Your information on the number of bars (which you contradict yourselves on)and night clubs is wrong. No night clubs, only the small Cricketer's Pub, which doubles as a restaurant, but is fun. There are actually 3 beaches, not 2 (plus a little bit on the island). Two of the beaches are tiny and virtually non existent at high tide. The clothing optional beach is even smaller, now being only about 60 ft long x 12 ft wide at most, since the over water suites were built. In some places it is almost impossible to put two loungers side by side and get past them. It does indeed face the sea, but there is a low wall that prevents anyone laying or sitting being seen. Unfortunately from time to time it tends to suffer from textile looky-loos, often drunk. Unfortunately, I fear that with rising sea levels, it will only take 18 inches to obliterate all the beaches at Royal and start to encroach on some of the rooms.
The resort was completely full while we were there but at no time did it seem crowded and we did not have to wait for anything other than watersports. We arrived on Thursday night which should have been the beach gala. Unfortunately it was raining so it was moved to the normal buffet restaurant. It was fine and the ice sculpture looked nice.On many of the meals they had signs for vegetarian and gluten free items in the buffet line. Unfortunately they did not do this for all of the meals. Similarly the salads and deserts were usually named, but the salads were not labeled as to their vegetarian/vegan/gluten free status. We ate in the two main "sit down" restaurants and had a private dinner. Otaheite, the dressier of the restaurants, requires reservations but we had no problem getting those. The food and the service were both good but not great. I did like the "love seats" that the couples had. Anyone in a group of four or more had traditional tables.Lychee is the Asian restaurant. I liked the food much better than Otaheite. Unfortunately my wife did not care for her entree and no effort was made to fix the problem and she did not want to press it. I thought the waiter should have at least inquired why she did not eat it.Now comes the main problem... three weeks in advance I purchased a package that included a private dinner. I made sure the Tree House was available and reserved that. Or so I thought. Unfortunately they did not inform the Spa of that and when we checked in it was discovered that the Tree House was not available since someone was getting a massage at that time. They tried to juggle the times some to accommodate everything, but In the end they moved us to the massage hut on the beach (it was raining again) and gave us a resort credit to compensate. That was nice, but they should have reserved the space three weeks before so the double booking would not be a problem. The actual dinner was fine although they could have used a second waiter. I don't know if it was due to the rain, the distance on the beach, or what, but there were long gaps while the waiter was off getting stuff and simple things like refilling water glasses did not get done. When you pay $179 for a romantic dinner you don't really want to have to get up and refill your glasses. I felt the dinner was nice, but badly overpriced. We spent most of each day lounging on the beach and the resort worked very well for that! The beach chairs were fine and I liked the "floats" for use in the water.
No :-). People who visit the AN areas of Couples resorts come from all walks of life. Some visit clothing optional / nude beaches, some do not. Some incorporate a clothes free lifestyle into their daily lives, and some have trepedation venturing down the hall with the shower running to grab a towel from the laundry. For some folks, the only time they ever go to au naturel outside their homes is when they visit a Couples Resort. Oh, and in case you're wondering, most people who embrace a clothing optional / free lifestyle prefer to be called "naturists." Certainly there are communities of folks who are like-minded in this realm, but they'll probably think you unenlightened or chuckle a bit if you think they all live in "nudist colonies."
All ages show up in various informal polling that people have done. Twenty-somethings are there as well as seventy and eighty-somethings. However, the majority tend towards middle age and higher (late 30's to 50's/60's). Why is this? My personal opinion is that most younger couples are at the resort on a honeymoon trip or are fairly early in their relationship. For those who have not gone to a public nude area with their significant other previously, the years of trust and understanding are simply not there. Folks who go to the AN areas tend to be more confident in themselves and their relationship with their SO. However, I personally believe that AN areas can be a great strength-builder, so, if you're on the younger end of the spectrum, don't shy away.
No. You can't. That's the rule. Look - once again, it's a couples resort. Regardless of where your heart is, consider what it looks like when you stroll off to the nude area where you will look at other naked people that are not your significant other with said significant other nowhere to be seen (and certainly not watching you.) The resort exists to relax and build up relationships, not introduce doubt and tempt faithfulness - including the mere perception of such a thing.
my wife and i are looking to celebrate 20 years of marraige this summer. looking for place where we can lots of fun. but not as wild as hedo... are beaches topless or nude or both in negril? i'm looking at staying at grand lido or couples... suggestions. also we enjoy being watched and lots of pda. is this the right place???? thank you
I would say you are. We have stayed at Couples Negril which is right next door to Garnd Lido Negril (which is next door to Hedo II). It's wise to spend a little money to ride to the busier parts of the Negril Beach but it's not far.. I think if you're at Grand Lido, they may let you walk thru Hedo's property to get there but I'm not sure. Couples Swept Away is right in the middle of the fun places to walk on the beach. Most of the resorts in Jamaica have gone all nude to avoid voyers, but the Nude beach at Couples Negril is right on the same beach as everyone else with little, if any, cover. I didn't notice Swept Away's or Grand Lido/s Nude beach. If you don;t mind going to the other coast (Ocho Rios, Runaway Bay) Grand Lido Braco and Couples San Soucie are awesome. The beach isn't nearly as nice as Negril but the Tropical settings and stone walkways are very romantic. San Soucie is a tamer crowd but is the most romantic place we've seen in Jamaica. Hope this helps,Rick 2ff7e9595c
